Avion Power develops and manufactures advanced battery systems for government, military, industrial, and commercial clients worldwide.

Our research and development have focused on power source technologies over the last three decades. We have developed improved anodes, cathodes, electrolytes, catalysts, and support materials for high energy density batteries, fuel cells and photovoltaics. We have also developed firmware and software that maximizes the reliability and safety of power sources.

Avion Power began developing aircraft batteries while working with the U.S. Army’s 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.  We learned about the various ways helicopter pilots depend on batteries and about the capabilities of the products currently in use.  Our prior experience with custom-made power sources and related technologies allowed us to develop our Modular Battery System (MBS).  This scalable power source replaced onboard, led-acid batteries in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment’s MH-47 Chinook helicopters.  The MBS is now the core technology in the Voyager aircraft battery.
